I like you think, here is one of my old class ideas:
The Sage has a mixture of Cleric and Wizard knowledge, even though he can cast some Wizard and Cleric spells these spells cost more mana since he learns them later. In addition, the Sage is limited on what Cleric and Wizard spells he can learn. He is a jack of all trades caster, with the option to be more support or damage oriented depending on the group makeup. The Sage has access to both enchanting and Cleric alchemy.
Primes: Meditation, RM, and Sage Magery
Base Stats: More HP than a Cleric, less than a Wizard/Rogue, Dex 35, Int 40, Str 25
Sage Magery (main spells):
1. Magic Arrow
2. Lesser Heal/Detoxify
6. Greater Heal
7. Lightning Bolt
yeah but the whole thing is that with one player (other than druid) its hard to go out and solo. but as soon as you get a group of people together (two or more) you can pretty much wipe out the land.
