While I was hunting Hill Giants with Budic, Marley, Nalek, and Bronte a guard approached with terrible news. Smoke was seen rising from Brigobaen! And not only that but birds were seen circling in the sky, clearly a sign that death was at hand. We sent messages to the various cities in all the lands, to gather what strength we could muster to help defend Brigobaen if there was still time.

We ran as fast as we could but when we got there bodies were strewn around the temple. The guards were giving their best, but the Mercenaries were slowly pushing them back. Our party was able to assist the guards and defeat the Mercenaries. However, once we saw the Temple Priest he had terrible news, the Book of the Stars, and the Amulet of the Stars which he was studying had been stolen! The Temple Priest was able to deduce from the blue pure crystals found on the dead Mercenaries that they took the artifacts to Duldrus.

We traveled to Andris in order to gather the necessary pures to travel to Duldrus quickly. Upon arriving in Duldrus we found a few stragglers who led us to the the rocks. I was terrified because there were shelters everywhere. There were strange runes guarding their encampment and Volund was there. Volund was the one who tried to recruit members of the guild Circle of Friends. The runes weakened thanks to the powerful magic users in our party.

We began fighting the Mercenaries and destroying the shelters. We pushed further and further into the rocks and killed Volund. The stench of the bodies began to assault my senses, I was just grateful that my companions were still among the living. As we fought the Mercenaries began to get desperate and began shouting to protect the captain. The fact that we were getting close to our goal, finding Ash Hauksen filled our spirits with hope.

We reached a clearing at the center of the rocks and saw Ash Hauksen surrounded by runes, with a dead body and the Book of the Stars laying on the ground. He started to call forth Willow Hauksen from the grave! Once before the book had been used to attempt to resurrect her but the previous attempt did not have the amulet so it failed. I stared in horror as the body began to take the shape of Willow. Once Willow was back in the land of the living, Ash asked her to help restore the family name and join him in his plunder of the lands. Willow refused however, and said that it was her voice that we had heard guiding us to the book in order to stop Ash. Ash attacked Willow, and I tried to heal her but my magic was unable to reach her because of the runes. Ash killed Willow and threw the book in the fire in a fit of rage. Because of his anger he lost his concentration of the runes and we were able to enter.

Ash Hauksen had no honor, he called for aid from his fellow Mercenaries who ran to fight us. In addition he summoned many beasts to assault us. We fought bravely and slowly beat back Ash's beasts and Mercenaries. Ash Hauksen was the toughest opponent I have faced. He kept trying to run away, but we were able to hold him against the rocks and begin to whittle down his health. He claimed the lives of a few of us, myself included, however we were victorious in the end. Ash Hauksen begged for us not to kill him, however he showed Willow and Brigobaen no mercy therefore he deserved none. Ash Hauksen had a couple of chests of loot which our rogues were able to lockpick. I appreciate the many hours rogues practice to get such nimble fingers. We split the loot and decided to head back to Mirith.

Upon arriving at Mirith we were greeted by the Royal Herald who declared that the King was so thrilled with our success that trade would be restored with Duldrus. Merchants will soon be sent up to trade for the precious metals located there, and to visit their shops.
