Hey folks, this really isnt that important, but just thought i would share.
I was just downloading the new Oberin client today and it only took about a minute to download... Looking at this i suddenly got a flashback of when i had dial-up and was extremely addicticed to Oberin. This procedure used to break my heart! Watching the download time range from 40 minutes to an hour 20, sitting at the computer screen watching it in anticipation of logging on.
It seemed one year where there was an update, the file jumped from i think 12MB to 23MB - this was the update that forever caused me mayhem on dail-up, forcing me to finally upgrade weeks after the second update at this size.
So yeah, there is one of my random memories... not really that importent.
Anyone else ever played on Dial-up Internet? |

Hehe, good ole dialup.
I remember looking up a video with it. The video was about 5 minutes long. I went to eat dinner, came back an hour later and I think it had loaded near 3 quarters of the video at that stage. |

I still have dial up. The phone company has been promising high speed internet since 2001. Back in those days I played Quake 3, until broadband became too common and I was a quarter second behind the rest of the players.
The only other thing available here is unreliable and expensive satellite, or unreliable wireless with a low bandwith cap. For large downloads I just go to the library. |
