Day 111 of the Dancing Moon, Year 437

Karad and I met outside Andris cemetery the night before after quite a long time since our last meting and decided to try and arrange a little hunt together for Friday evening. Destination would be decided according to the number of friends we could get together. Naughty Wupps was not online yet but Gawr managed to recruit this nice little group:

Anniqa, Eliposin, Cassandra and Corinne.

So it was that a fighter, two clerics, two rangers and two wizards met on Three Rivers Island and headed north to the Tree Maze area.

The forest seemed particularly vicious to me on this particular occasion so I urged the group to stick close together and not too soon, as Anniqa's fine senses detected a dragon not far from us. The beast was brought down and we continued our march through the forest, which brought us north east of the entrance to the infamous maze. The usual crowd of giants, harpies, rust beasts, poison elementals and bracken kept us busy for a while, then Anniqa sensed another dragon was close! We braced ourselves for another hard fight and regrettably two lives were lost before the beast could be brought down. It was with immense relief that we finally saw it fall but, when we tried to take its treasures away, we found we were unable to.

Gawr, at that precise moment, spotted Wupps on AIM and hastened to call him. We stood around the dead dragon waiting for Wupps to come and perform his rogue magic, then the announcement came that there woud be a server restart in 10 minutes. Wupps was nowhere close - he was still waiting for Rodolpho to dig green crystals out of his hidden cabinet. It was the case now of retreating to a safe spot and, after dropping a coin on the dead body, Eliposin stepped off the creature and we started making our way to the west bank. Then the suggestion came that perhaps Jinker could be called and asked if he could kindly lock the body for us. Half of the group had already moved forward towards safety when Jinker himself appeared bu they were called back and a lot of confusion was caused by a few of us talking together. Eventually Jinker understood our request, I added that we were waiting for Wupps to come and unlock the body and Eliposin led him to the carcass.

Jinker stepped on the body and a click was heard, which made me think he had unlocked the dragon for us, but the surprise was yet to come - we were now 5 minutes away from server restart when the figure of Wupps appeared just north east of us, but he stood still, turning his back to us... had he frozen? A moment later, he turned around totally confused - he had left the computer whilst in Andris as he needed the little rogues' room and returned to find himself in the middle of a forest! That was priceless, absolutely priceless!

2 minutes now to server restart so we legged it to the river bank after thanking Jinker and, when we could log back in, we continued the hunt around the maze. Dragon number three was brought down then we went back to the point where we had logged off as some people (including us) had to leave.

There was some banter as we were distributing the loot, also in view of our court case today, and some funny GM decided to intervene and afforded us a much needed laugh!

I wish to thank Jinker for helping us secure the dragon's treasures, the GM who put the icing on the cake after the hunt, and the friends in game who wished us good luck for today - I am relieved to say we won the appeal!

Thank you again, hunt companions and GMs alike.
