I was thinking it might be a nice idea to have public chests.
Players could drop things in there, they might think to be useful for other players but which they can't use themselves.
I think it might add a nice twist to the game |

| Actually there was one a long time ago... in the old disused house in Marali near the coast across from poison island. It had a chest in it that players regularly dropped stuff into like pots and such. When the Marali Vanguard co-opted it as a temporary guild house that chest was taken from public use. A shame really - I think it's a great idea, maybe there could be a few dropped around - like at Gast or Foehan:) |

Hmm, one at lerilin then, for the new players that come about and want that extra edge?
Yes, i like the idea. they already have them in GHs (community chests), but since the whole of Oberin is it's own community, i can only see this as beneficial to the game. |

| I like the idea, but what happens when someone decides to play a joke and lays it with traps? |

| You will always have those players who take it for granted and take everything out to sell it though. |

| That too. It's a good idea but it's open to too much abuse. Maybe some limits could be set so that players can only take out a certain amount of items in a certain amount of time, but that may take a lot of coding. I'm not sure. |

Hmm, i guess so, but i wouldn't let the odd one out ruin the whole community. Besides, you'd think we'd be able to trust each other with these thi-*gets cut off*
I suppose there could be an abuser. Then again, since the nicer people in the community make their own rules as to what they'll take (for instance, i'd be reluctant to take a tarnished necklace out of my GH's community chest because i feel a wizard may want it, so instead i think i'll just grab such and such potions, and i might put in this brown robe of protection i just found, etc etc.), it may be such that rules such as this won't affect them, so i guess it'd be ok. |

| Hey, nothing wrong with that. One man's trash is another man's treasure. If you're not going to make use of it and dump it in the chest it's first comes first serves. If I feel like dropping 20 brown RoPs one day and someone takes and sells them all, more power to them. |

Is that an invitation to steal your RoPs?
Well if most people feel that way about the chests then I don't the problem. Also, I haven't tried this and I don't want to, but does dropping traps in a chest make the next person to open the chest explode? |

| I believe someone posted about that earlier. I assume you mean the same one that Boric is talking about. |
