We don't have enough things in the sea. There are only five creatures that can be on or over or under the sea: Gaper, Harpie, WE, SS, and Sea Turtle.
The leviathan is a tougher version of SS, and only two or three would be in oberin seas at any one time. They can bite from three squares away, and bite much harder than a Sea Serpent, resulting in a lvl 12 or 13 creature. They would be much like the sea serpent in appearance, except they are blue instead of green, and have one more tail part showing than Sea Serpents.
Thoughts...

Post count? Now wait for Hania to post a "I agree with X."
Also, I think another version of Leviathans was proposed somewhere in the ideas forum. It would maybe be worth digging... |

I don't have a problem with new creatures being proposed, but it annoys me that you are basically proposing the same creatures we already have.
The only difference is that they are slightly harder (or have a different colour, earth elemental anyone?)
It isn't original and it brings nothing new to the game.
Oh, and it supports the cleric/fighter combo. |

| Agreed. I think a lot of things that get proposed as "new" creatures are like this. The starting point for them seems to be, "a stronger version of x", or "this would look so cool" (not such a bad thing). I think the starting point should be, "how do we force players to adopt new strategies?; how do we make classes useful in different ways?" Otherwise, it is more of the same. |

I agree with this statement.
And I would post more interesting and thought-out comments, but everyone else beats me to the punch.
P.S. I think they were suggested as well. I think Wurms were too... Not sure though |

Besides, I picture a leviathan as a giant octopus.
Awhile back I posted a topic on melee resistant but magical susceptible creatures, but got no response.

You can use BBcode for URL links like so:

These days, almost anything does.

Needed to fill a gap. That wasn't so much the crerature, rather the fact that if we have the other four, we may as well have that one.

Ok, then please, instead of saying stop or this idea is awful, suggest ways to improve it. With the last three ideas i have recently proposed, you have only put in constructive criticism once. No wonder i was sad by the time i made the third one.

Well, harder creatures can well do that, just putting it out there. If you can't beat by a cleric and a fighter, or lots of both, then you'd think a different startegy would then arise. If it doesn't, then you'd think those people are not so smart.
But, in case people are not smart and decide to do it over and over again until, on that off chance when they get super lucky, they do kill it, i thought of a way to make it differ. Make it so it can hide itself whenever attacked BY MELEE. This would put wizards to the fore. They would be weak in RM, meaning easily calmed, meaning druids really get a crowd control role, which is good.
Look, all i'm saying is that i wish people would either say that the general idea is good, just that it needs a bit of developing, or actually present something that makes it better, instead of, "It's wrong, this will never work", or, "This won't work because...(without suggesting something to make it better)". I'm starting to get super frustrated with it.
Is that so much to ask? |
