Hello everyone!
Below is a list of guilds that are in trouble and will be deleted on March 18th, 2012, if they cannot bring up their membership.

Remember, you must have 5 active members.

Guilds with 4 members:

These guilds will be considered "in trouble". No changes can be made to the guild halls (new chests, temples, stables, guards, etc.), and they will have one month to bring the number of active players back up to 5. After one month, if the number of active players is not 5 or more the guild will be considered dead, the members will be untagged on sight, and the hall will be removed from the guild.

Black Roses: 3

Diluculo Guardians: 4

GYPSY: 4

Scamp: 2

Sect of the Crystal: 3

The Gestalts: 4

The Peace Givers: 1

Tipsy Socialists: 4

Vermilion Bird: 2

Whe-T'ang: 0

EDIT: (I need to learn how to read. Nixed my question regarding what it means to be active.) Rather than requiring just a log-in once every 3 months, add to that that X number of minutes on that character be played over the course of 6 months.

---
As for The Gestalts, who are the active players? I would like to contact them regarding the matter.
--

Also, I think people should be limited to having their characters belonging to 2 guilds or fewer. This would prevent people creating extra characters (3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th) to help boost guild's up to the minimum of 5.

And a follow up: With some guilds changing membership, meeting the minimum requirements for having guards, a stable, or a temple, or a combination thereof might no longer be met.

Perhaps, a review of all guilds, active or not, should be considered. Razz

As a matter of personal taste, I would agree with you. But it is strictly a matter of personal taste: I am not schizophrenic enough to role-play in two different guilds. On the other hand, some people are, and it is fine that they are able to carry on doing that...
An alternative could be, maybe, that characters are counted only once per person? For example, if I have Cass in the MV and someone else in some other guild, only one of them would count. Of course, the GMs would have to decide which one, or to ask me which character did I consider my "main".

*edits* Also, not everyone uses the forum (I don't know if many from GYPSY ever did...). Would it be possible to have red letters at the log in asking people to have a look at this thread?

I am sufficiently schizophrenic (in the popular but inaccurate sense of that word being used to mean split-personality) as to wish for three separate Oberin personalities.

My suggestion would be that since Character Creator allows 3 characters, each of these characters can be counted once, but not in the same guild.

Unless I am misreading your post, that is how it works now.

The "member" count of a guild is how many players are members, not how many characters. For example, Shayde and Serancha are both in Dragon's Gate, but since they are both played by me, they only count as one member. If I tagged one into another guild, however, I would also count as one of that guild's members.

*edits* While it's a good idea, to only count a player as a member for one guild, while allowing their alts to join other guilds without "counting" would be a logistical nightmare. It would require the GM's to sort through all the members to figure out which are alts and which are mains, and who counts or doesn't... Perhaps restricting the number of guilds a player may join would be the easier solution.

Not if the guilds were to tell GMs themselves the status of each of its members, at formation and when tagging. GMs have a database anyway, I would assume.

In any case, making one guild only per player is really very limiting for RP. And if that is the price, I would rather have guilds surviving out of alts only (as we might have now), but that people considered to fulfil an important role for them, than reducing their RP freedom...

I know there is going to be speculations of what counts as a member in a guild for each guild. The best response I can let you know is those guilds that are in trouble need to figure out how to get their membership up to standard.

I would strongly suggest that if you don't think a certain guild is looking at this forum to contact them in or out of game and let them know. We have a great community that likes to help. This could be a new quest for some of you.

Regarding requirements for guards, etc for a guild with low members; it would be easier to figure out what guilds are going to be deleted first then go back and see if they qualify to keep their "extras".

I hope this helps and good luck!

Here is the update so far of the remaining guilds in trouble. The deadline is still March 18th, 2012, so you have 13 days left. If you don't think you will be able to replenish the memberships, I would advise to grab what you need out of your guild hall before it is closed.

Black Roses: 3 †
Diluculo Guardians: 4
Sect of the Crystal: 4†
The Peace Givers: 2
Tipsy Socialists: 4
Vermilion Bird: 2

Good luck!

Ok, so, the Black Roses (i believe) are in the clear, but i still think, that due to the server being down, the deadline should be extended by how ever many days the server is down. Seems fair to me.

Deadline is being extended until the 25th.

The 26th I will be running the list and start closing down guild halls. At that time I will also be looking to see if guilds have kept members high enough level to keep their temples and guards.

After that, I will post deadlines to put your guild hall deed in the guild hall and start checking. A deadline for this will be posted and then check. I'll post more later in the thread about guild hall deeds.

Could a list of still-in-trouble guilds be posted? That way there is no confusion later on.
