I met a druid that tried to convince me that seagulls say "Hello".
I think they got rid of the girl with pink hair. She had something against people unable to decide... |

| I met my alter ego past bedtime in my mirror once. He was weird and had this creepy smile and stare, didn't talk much. So I decided to avoid Oberinites from that night. Apart from that, I am pretty close to zero. |

| I've never actually met anyone else from Obe, but I can just imagine how some of those meetings would go if it were to happenÖ |

Synnove and Clementiyn,
Shiner Bock indeed. My preferred choice of Ale. Although I still take a liking to Fat Tire from my college years in Denver. Clem, didn't you live close to Shiner when you were in Texas? |

| Yeah.... have not met one of them! But i DO know the Brack lives REALLY close to me! about 15 minutes away, (yes we calculated how far away we live from eachother) We may run into each other one of these days. Hopefully when we aren't teenagers so it doesn't feel as awkward as i think it would be if we met right now. I mean if he came out of nowhere through my window and told me he was Brack... I really have no idea what the hell i would do! |

| None. But there are places some live where I plan to visit, so I have it in the back of my head to someday give them a good hello. Anyone know if I can smuggle Magnums into France easy?..... |

There's kind of an icky stigma against meeting online people in "real life."
My parents live over seas and forces me to fly through Europe if I ever go see them. Cayman Islands would be the only other option, which is a direct flight touch and go for fuel en route to Africa.
We are already planning a European Vacation, the wife and I, and whenever we do, I've been in contact with about 4 or 5 different Obie people who have been very hospitable towards us, and have offered to let us hang out with them for a day.
For the people who never met someone from online, it's AWKWARD at first. *smiles* Crazy awkward. Especially when they say they thing your truck is ugly. That pissed me off, in fact. From gaming to chatting, I've met about 7 people in "real life" whom I've originally met online.
No there hasn't been any 600lb child molesters yet, but I've got my eye on a couple of them who might show potential in that area. You know, it's all in what your parents say. My dad gave me a S/N of a girl in town, and we ended up dating for a couple years, even considered tying the knot.
The reason why I say it's all in what your parents say is that most people are teenagers, and stay at home, and parents just don't like that kind of thing. Not that I blame them. Especially if it's a cross gender meeting.
I think about 5 people in Oberin have my phone number. I have a couple people's phone numbers. And as they say, remember, they are just as much scared of you as you are scared of them!
Just make sure that you really want to meet someone - once you meet the relationship changes. You can't just "log-off" from them anymore. This can be pretty rewarding, or it can be sheer hell.
There are a few dozen people I'd like to meet still. I try to find out where people are, since I fly several times a year to different parts of the states, and see if maybe I can schedule a layover and lunch somewhere.
Anyway, don't be SCARED of it, just be CAUTIOUS. Not from someone hurting you physically, though that's always a possibility, but relationships take a turn at meeting - for better or for worse.
For the adults? Party on folks, party on. |

Well actually, I didn't think about this before, I have met another Oberin player. In fact, she's sitting right next to me doing her science work at this time!
