Near the 150th day of the current Sleeping Moon, I was taking a rather heavy load of coal to my guild hall when I encountered Aducath near the Looting Jester's Guild Hall. he approached me with a "You there!" then "Are you deaf?" as he was irritated when I didn't respond. I cast a Strength spell on myself so that I could turn to face him and apologized for not answering sooner.
(Aducath): What place is this?
(Breigje Balloc): This is Marali.
(Aducath): Marali, you say?
(Breigje Balloc): Yes.
(Breigje Balloc): Have you been here before? I don't believe I've met you. Im Breigje.
(Aducath): I do not know, much has changed since I was last..
(Breigje Balloc): oh?
(Aducath): *nods*
(Aducath): I am not one for pleasantries. I look for he who commands.
(Breigje Balloc): The Commander of Marali is a woman named Vaup.
(Aducath): A woman?!
(Breigje Balloc): Yes.
(Aducath): Not a king?
(Breigje Balloc): This is a military fort, sir.
(Aducath): I see.
(Aducath): Military, hmm. You are in this military?
(Breigje Balloc): I have not seen the Commander recently.
(Breigje Balloc): No sir I am not..someone near is a member.
(Aducath): *lowers hands*
(Aducath): You are not part of this military?
(Breigje Balloc): I am a Maralian.
(Aducath): A citizen then?
(Jonathan II): Greetings, Sir.
(Breigje Balloc): Just a citizen, sir.
(Aducath): *nods*
(Aducath): Is he a member of this military?
(Breigje Balloc): Cassandra..a wizard in their ranks is here.
(Aducath): *points boldly*
(Breigje Balloc): Jon?
(Jonathan II): Me?
(Aducath): Yes the male.
(Jonathan II): I am not, Sir. I belong to noone.
(Aducath): Then I have no use for you either.
(Breigje Balloc): Do you wish to speak with a representative of Marali?
(Aducath): I seek a persecutor.
(Breigje Balloc): Oh?
(Cassandra): Greetings.
(Aducath): *nods*
(Aducath): *looks at insignia*
(Aducath): You are in this military?
(Cassandra): Yes.
(Aducath): You are a persecutor?
(Aducath): Answer!
(Cassandra): No.
(Aducath): You are one who punishes! Military punishes.
(Cassandra):No. I've never punished anyone *smiles*
(Aducath): Then you are ignorant of your duty.
(Cassandra): Are you looking for one?
(Aducath): You follow the orders of a persecutor!
(Cassandra): I don't believe I need you to tell me what my duty is.
(Aducath): Yes.
(Cassandra): But you may wish to talk to Commander Vaup.
(Aducath): This is the woman they spoke of?
(Breigje Balloc): Yes.
(Cassandra): I don't know, I wasn't here.
(Aducath): Commander, you say?
(Cassandra): *nods*
(Cassandra): Would you like to come into town with us? We can send for the Commander, if your business is important.
(Aducath): I will not find those who punished me.
(Cassandra): May I ask what you need from us?
(Aducath): Then all persecutors will pay.
(Breigje Balloc): Someone from this city hurt you?
(Cassandra): Oh, I thought you were looking for the representatives of the city.
(Aducath): Yes, uhm..no. I...don't remember. So they will all pay.
(Breigje Balloc): All of Marali?
(Aducath): You are not a persecutor, you may go.I have no issue with you.
(Cassandra): You may not find any here.
(Aducath): Any?
(Cassandra): Unless you think you did something that deserves punishment.
(Aducath): *laughs*
(Cassandra): *smiles*
(Aducath): I have been punished. I have endured. I will have revenge.
(Cassandra): May I ask what happened to you?
(Aducath): I was accused of crimes.
(Cassandra): By whom?
(Aducath): I do not remember..they wore uniform.
(Cassandra): Which color?
(Aducath): It does not matter! I don't know. I don't care!
(Cassandra): It is the only thing that matters.
(Aducath): I will have revenge!
(Cassandra): Or you will take revenge on innocent people.
(Aducath): It has been many years. There are no innocents.
(Cassandra): Oh?! Where was it?
(Aducath): This boy will not last, I must act. This body is dying already.
(Breigje Balloc): Who are you?
(Aducath): I does not matter. I don't..I ..
(Aducath): *takes a deep breah*
(Cassandra): You...?
(Jonathan II): Hm?
(Aducath): *sighs*
(Aducath): I tire of these questions.
(Cassandra): Very well. I have other things to do.
(Aducath): This body will not wait for your questions.
(Cassandra): If you don't need me, I shall go back.
(Aducath): No, you won't.
(Cassandra): Pardon?
(Aducath): You will pay for the crimes of whom you work for.
(Cassandra): Which crimes?
(Aducath): I have payed. Too long I have waited. They are all gone. All dead. Someone must pay.
(Cassandra): Who?
(Aducath): Those who killed me!!
(Aducath): * Mora Olsen N'eshra *
(Jonathan II): *dives in front of Cassandra*
(Aducath): * Mora Olsen Preldian *
With those words, he unleashed fire elementals and poison elementals all around us. With my overload of coal , I moved to slowly and fell to the fiends. Jon and Cass were also caught unaware but were clever enough to survive. Daneel and Gwyndyr II came to us along with Stevyn and his tusker. They helped us rid the area of the elementals. Yupa, Lym and April joined us a short time but all traces of Aducath and the bad spirit inhabiting him had gone. He fled like a coward when he saw the people who were coming to help us . Before he left however, we sometimes heard his laughter or felt his magic. he seemed particularly interested in hurting Cassandra, if the fireballs he hurled at her are any indication. We also heard, " The protectors and prosecutors will all pay." but the voice was fading as if he was growing distant.
We discussed what his threats could mean to the safety of our people and who this spirit might be. A long dead enemy returned for vengeance? It certainly seemed to be the case. But Whom? Cassandra visited several places searching for signs of where Aducath might have gone. I sent my sister Elsbeta to do the same. There were no signs of him anywhere. Sadly, I do not think that when Aducath's body gives out we will be done with this angry spirit. He seems all ready to be searching for a new body.
He is a danger to all people of Oberin as his memory seems unclear and focused only on revenge even though he does not know on whom to focus his wrath.
