Before the events of that long and eventful day escape my memory, this is what happened upon Fuoco and Mirrim's return to Andris, after their encounter with Father Vei, on Day 227 of the Waking Moon, Year 438:
After telling me of their adventures and the many sea serpents encountered between Lerilin and Andris, my aunt retired to her chamber, leaving us two clerics to our own devices. We decided to go and fight evil trees, as Mirrim really needs to get a little more resistant to their vile attacks so, arm in arm, we set off for the Park. The Pixies paid us a visit and then we met my Uncle Crom, to whom we related what had passed with the Andris Scout.
(Rosina): we are getting Mirrim stronger against magic attacks Crom
(Rosina): but
(Rosina): waters were full of SS!!!
(Crom): Bah
(Crom): 
(Rosina): Mirrim survived bite!!
(Crom): Very nice
(Rosina): all the coast
(Crom): a sign of a true cleric

After ridding ourselves of the troublesome Pixies, we strolled to the shore and, whilst chatting at the water's edge, Sundiir joined us and our conversation. So absorbed were we in laughing together, that the unexpected appearance of a Phase Serpent right in front of us almost froze us on the spot. Thankfully our life preservation instincts kicked in almost immediately and we braved the beast.
Afer putting up a good fight, the black serpent started swimming in a north-westerly direction, with Crom after it and me in tow. It then swerved inland and made for the inward corner of the city walls, what used to be called Bracken Alley. I thought to my horror "this is not good, if the serpent bounces back (as animals tend to do when cornered) and gains snakes and evil trees as allies", so in a desperate effort to avoid the rest of the forest ganging upon us, I aimed my magic ring at the black beast and struck it until it collapsed just below the city walls. Sundiir and Mirrim appeared breathless at our side and we all stared in wonder at the big carcass.
At this point Uncle Crom surprised and amused me by stating that this was his first Phase Serpent, and that Mirrim certainly made good bait! We all laughed and then wandered around the Park, killing snakes and trees, but soon Crom recollected what I had said about the many Sea Serpents lurking at sea, so the four of us set sail towards Lerilin and braved many dangers but, in the end, we had the satisfaction of seeing the waters free from threats.
We returned ashore via the island where Uncle Marlick's Hall stands and, after fighting some rude giants and a swarm of Pixies, we sought the safety of the city walls and sat down on the bank steps, where we talked a while before parting for the night. There was not much rest for Mirrim and myself though, as we were soon called on yet another adventure - the blasting of the rocks blocking the Volcano entrance and the fight against the evil spiders!
(OOC - we had a good laugh when Crom said, "This is my first phase", as a red writing appeared on the screen saying "It's just a phase he is going through!". Bless our GMs ) |
