The penalty just lessens the fun, you have to re-do what you already did, it removes your senses of accomplishment, usually due to a lag spike you can't control. As the creators of farmville put it "if it's an element that takes away the fun in the game, remove it".

I can only say that I was not a happy camper yesterday, when I died more in one day, than in all the time I have been playing Obi. For Druids, we get hit TWICE! Not only did I have to re-level prime skills, but I also lost 3 very good pets. So now, I must go back into dangerous places and attempt to regain pets, and then work them to re-level them. Then, I will probably die in the attempt, so there it is... MORE success losses... And relogging is not always a doable thing, especially when the risk to step off of my body for even a second, could mean great and irreparable loss. Maybe we could get a Resurrect Pet spell at a higher level (Maybe 9 or 10) to help offset this double hit. (Pretty pretty please)

Gotta say this people. I got insane luck.. 3 deaths in a 24h span, and only dropped cooking from 5 to 4. And somehow my Meditation went up.
