| What should be inside? |
| Description: |
| The lab. A building. Has an entrance and a main part. Sliding star trek like doors. In the main room there's a gaper floating in an electric dampening polymer(negates the spells). And a shiny curved table. |

One day I'm gonna find the time to learn Blender, I did take a course in 3D modeling... learned maya, loved maya until I noticed that it costs a gazillion million billion dollars... after that I decided that maya wasn't as good as I thought...

Yeah, Maya costs a lot. I'll stick with Blender for now. Shogun, you should go for it! Download the latest and greatest and just start making random stuff. I've noticed a gaper is a really easy model to make. Oval body, with 7 cone-like appendages.
As for the giant, the topology has proven most difficult to model. I'm spending some time on learning how to model humanoid figures by watching some tutorials. |

Yeah. I tried doing the head first, failed badly. So I decided to try from the bottom and work my way up.
Bahah. I'm one "step" closer. |

| Not bad. I was taught to start with the mid section (i.e. Chest) Work your way to the arms, then the legs, Make the Hands and Feet seperatly then connect them on, then do the head seperatly and connect them on too. |

| Another trick you may want to try out if to make a "prop" type thing first out of nodes i think it was... then use a poly to build around that prop so you have more guide lines to follow. I.E. |

| Mid-section is always the best to start with. |

Interesting character.
It took 3 days to render this on a render farm:
http://www.renderfarm.fi/animations/8390
Note the low quality of the image. I could've bumped it to a higher quality but that could have increased render time to 6-12 days.
I wonder how long it'd take to render Hi-Q on just my laptop.... |

3 days? Holy heck, something like that on my computer would render in about 30 seconds to a minute :s
Yeah, that character was supposed to be used on a cartoon showreel we were making. Some of the people decided they wanted to make realistic characters, so the ones with the cartoony characters had to make them more realistic... I was going for a big - chin guy |

Blender is actually much better these days. Now that they've fixed that horrible UI, it's a very nice accomplished 3d package! |
