Octar wakes up in the Barracks at Marali. His head is sore. Dimly, he recollects the GoDs raining down Red Nate's rotgut rum. Since the plans for controlled military action had been impatiently set aside, and finding himself at a loss, he had gone to find some old friends to drown their collective sorrows. This had ended up as a drunken rampage, slaying many foes in the full bleeding moon all the way from Lerilin to Marali.
Suddenly, he blushes. Certain inhibitions had been cast aside, perhaps under the influence, and a line had been crossed that his sober self would surely not have dared transgress. A blurred - if not unpleasant - vision was still present in his mind. Splashing a little water on his face, he leaves a short note for his friend Nial before he dons his armour and steels himself once more for duty.
