This is what you guys asked for. I'm not happy, but...
low level magical creature, the imp.
These can be elemental, but since we only have fire and lightning elemental spells, i think those two would be best.
Fire imp: Lovers of fire, these cast explosions as much as possible, with the occasional chaos or paralyzation.
Thunder imp: These are a slightly higher level than the fire imp, and cast lightning bolt more often, as well as the occasional weaken and diso spells.
Please develop the idea to your own liking, since i am feeling pretty low at the moment.
and...

I guess I will give some constructive criticism this time...
What makes a creature a good/interesting creature?
ï Different tactics are required
ï Other classes are needed to defeat it
ï It has some quirky value to it (ie, it does something strange/new [usually links in with the first point])
ï It fills in a gap (the only "gap" atm seems to be lower magical creatures - which you just attempted to fill, and I'll explain why you haven't in a moment)
There are others of course, I just thought of those off the top of my head.
Now, with the imp you proposed, I am assuming you want it to fill the lower end levels. Fine, but by giving it chaos and paralyse you have created a recipe for disaster.
Paralyse in combination with any other creature is extremely deadly (chaos as well but to a lesser extent). Giving a lower level magical creature paralyse/chaos and even lightning bolt? It's just the same as a gaper/pixie.
Which is also why the pixie is a ridiculous low level magical creature anyway.
Does it make more sense now? |

I think that the "lower level" creatures missing are not necessarily magic. Actually, I don't think we miss low level magic creatures at all, but that's me. I'd welcome them anyway, even if I don't see the point of having rm made easier - and yes, I love rm, but I'd like it to be effective once acquired, not easy.
Anyway, with the fighter-things-of-your-level system we do miss creatures at level 3, for example, as Faerie keeps pointing out. Do I care much about it? Not really. Both because it's easy to go past level 3 anyway, and because I dislike the system. Maybe we could use more grinding fields for each class (as fighters and druids already have). Would I like to see them? No. But rather than having yet another coloured golem (unless it's pink), I'd favour diversity in the woods.
(And Draco, you don't have to post "what other people wanted" just for the sake of posting or pleasing them. If you don't agree and feel low and unhappy, let others do the job.) |

If someone posts 10 ideas and 9 of them are rubbish but that 1 is good, then I would say, yes it is. Anto is just being a meanie |

Pink abyss golems at level 15 that cast calm? They drop roses and candy. I'd suggest more ideas for abyss golems, but its probably best I don't say them here.
We now have a low level magic creature with the pixie. Rather than throw around more creatures, lets address the problems noted with the pixie first.
As Cass said, low level creatures aren't useful for levelling with the current system because they are quickly surpassed. The grind starts getting bad around 7-8, and leveling near impossible after 12-13, so ideally new creatures should fall into that rather wide range. |

I also quite like the idea of having a golemess. I'm tired of male brutes all around.
Ah, and they should really speak. Golems are so lame that they deserve some lines programmed by their makers. I volunteer to start a thread with suggestions. |

While most people surpass the lower levels and start at say level 4, there are some people who start first time characters at lower levels. What is the normal advice for these characters? Frequently I hear them being told to remake their char so that they start at a decent level.
On to creatures, while there are probably enough level 2 creatures a few more level 1 creatures, and 3+ creatures would be nice. Rangers having level 3 taming seems pointless when the best creature they can have as a pet is a wolf (which is weaker then a level 2 ant). Level 4 creatures are ok because skeletons are level 4, and it is easy for low level characters to hunt them.
The next gap is at level 5, although there are level 5 creatures, there aren't common enough to hunt them when at level 5 (or get rid of the fight things your own level system), but as it stands, clusters of level 5 creatures are not easy to find in any quantity.
*ends rant before gets started on magical creatures* |

| A nice easy solution to all this creature level thing: do away with the fight-your-own-level requirement. At the very least, broaden the level range within which maximum success is gained. Then we don't need to worry about plugging gaps like this. We can just concentrate on making more interesting, varied beasties. |

As to remaking: I was told to remake Cass when I first popped in Lerilin. Never did it. Zarco took me to kill sheep every day, though. Then I was taken to Andris and life started.
Remaking is not really necessary - if you help the player out, the first few levels should balance out pretty soon. |

I'm soooo tired of the complaining about "Only fighting creatures at your level" nonsense. The problem is that Stefan told you about it.
Hayate is one of the best fighters in Oberin and he kills rats and lizards to gain successes. And it works. Just fight whatever you want to fight and you will gain successes. Period.
On a side note, Anton and Cass. You have been acting very rude lately on the forums. All ideas are welcome, you are not the ones deciding what is a good idea and what isn't. |

I agree with Jinker.
And we do have to respect each other guys.
There is no reason for us to be putting each other down.
Because if we don't respect each other... that means the terrorists win. O.O |
