Now i have a funny feeling this has been said before, but why not add a detoxify pet spell? It's not too overbalancing at a level of, say, 7 or 8(bumping the other spells up a bit from levels, or it could be a lvl 9 or 10 spell(whichever one opportunity isn't). All it does is act like a lesser detoxify, but on the pet, needing an amber, lotus flower, piece of coal, ginseng, and garlic, and using up about 20 mana points.
Think it's a worthy idea? |

| I heard that some people think that it is a cleric's job. The thing is, a cleric can help, but a pet is it's master's duristiction. You may as well just say, "let's take heal pet out of the druid's spells"(and no, lets not have that happen). it is useful as a lvl 9 or 10 spell, and is not too overbalancing. What's the problem? |

Druids mostly solo hunt, so when clerics are not about, how will the pets get un poisoned? Not to mention the lack of clerics lately. The clerics we do have spend most of their time fallowing around plates because they get in more spells. The only issue I see is others might think that it would make it so a druid doesn't need other classes with it. Well, as a druid, I can tell you that isn't more true than other classes curently. druids need their pets to fight, all others can fight on their own, and heal/detoxify their selves with potions or spells, so why not let the druid get closer to being on the same level as everyone else? we are already tied to towns because we need stables, when every other classes can log out and go where ever they please without having a handy-cap when they come back on.
Despite what many of you think, druids are not over powered, and adding this spell will not make them so. It will just help make them equals with other classes. [/rant]
Making it a level 9 spell would be fine. It should take amber (duh), mandrak root, and maybe something else. I would rather see the spell at one or 2 levels above heal pet, because that would make the most sense, but I will take what I can get. |

| Actually drinking an elevate mind potion before healing your pet will make it detox about 5 times faster than without. Leane did some experiments while collecting my acidic glands in Andris. |

| it is still a needed spell. My level 10 lion only had poison casted on it by a gaper, it died before doing anyhting else, it ate the poor things health even through the heal pet spell, I had to log out to save it, couldn't make it to the stable. |

I like how lenard and Draco were so fast to defend their side of the argument before anyone even said anything against getting a detox spell for druids.
[Edit]
And Draco set up an argument against the detox spell on his own so that he could argue his point further. Awesome job. Planting seeds in The Unnamed Source's head. (jk, i just love you because you play devil's advocate so much ) |

| i just get a little defensive about the druid class. I just feel that they are at a small disadvantage to other classes fo the same levels. I mean, a level 13 fighter, ranger or even wizard can kill pretty much anything they want(besides a dragon of course:P ), when a level 13 druid is still for the most part only as good as the pet they have. I love being a druid, I just think that there is some room for improvement. |

| I also think a cleric should be able to reserect him/her self. If a fighter/ranger can killl anything, and druids might get a detox pet spell, then cleric should have reserect self spell. I died the other day and wished I had that spell. |

Suck them in and join the choir Len! People always dismiss that anything needs to be done to the Druid class (despite it being painfully obvious to those who actually play as one) and then people argue and nothing ever gets done, which is a shame because I think a few small changes could make a big difference. I'm all for a pet detox spell because IT MAKES SENSE.
As for Alexis, I'm going to hope he was exercising sarcasm. |

Yes, I was. I think a Druid should be able to detoxify a pet, just like they can heal one. I actually didn't know they couldn't. Which I can see it would be a problem! Hope they make this change for all my druid friends out there! |

And it's all good Len. I understand.
But being on the defensive shows weakness! We're better then that!

| And remember people! As has been stated before, poison is very much able to easily kill a pet in seconds, as we all know it devastatingly can, even with a heal pet spell. There has been many a time when pets have been at full health, then they may fight a Giant Spider or Giant Scorpion, or even a magical creature. Not to mention the damage they have ALREADY taken, they can still suffer heavily from poison and it is an unworthy gamble to see if heal pet can save them, and then have your pet die, simply because the poison was just a little too strong for your heal pet spell, because it(heal pet) does not address the problem of poison TO IT'S FULL EXTENT. We do not get any spell at level 9, and for many druid's it seems, opportunity is quite redundant when on a solo hunt, and even sometimes in a group hunt. Level 9 is the perfect spell to keep druid's going, so lets all support the idea of detoxify pet!!!!!!!! |
