Oberin.
So many things happened in the once peaceful land of Oberin... Heroes, villains, travelers, mysteries... Many people marked its history, as strongly as their disappearance from the scenes was sudden. Here is to these unique beings without whom Oberin would not be what it is.
Mayor Palmer
Mayor of the fishing town of Lerilin, Palmer constantly fought for what he calls his "treasure"'s independence. Keeping away from the intrigues of politics, Palmer only shows up when the security of his town is under menace. With the constant flock of heroes enjoying the breeze of Lerilin's docks, Palmer can quietly leave the town running itself.
Nita and Kolarysan
The representants of the Mhara folks who live underwater were of a great help to kill Yadeth, one of the very first threat that struck Oberin. After Yadeth's death the Mhara returned underwater and no one knows what became of them.
Nyatha Vaup
This once unassuming officer of Marali surprisingly rose to the position of Commander after the city's liberation. As for some reason Marali doesn't take part in the current matters of Oberin, Nyatha Vaup quietly leads her city, far from the eyes of the public.
Valencia Falvo
Former co-leader of Marali with Commander Kang, Valencia Falvo managed to escape from the Alliance's invasion and devoted all her time and energy helping getting it back from the hands of the notorious Twins. Not much has been heard of her since the city was liberated and Nyatha Vaup became its new Commander.
Altaira Mei
Rumored to have died during Marali's invasion by the alliance. Her body was never found.
The Mercenary Family Hauksen
The Hauksens have been around for longer than anyone can remember. They are also well known for only showing up when they can really benefit the situation. After the recent troubles of Willow Hauksen, the family hasn't been seen around much.
Birek McCalla
Former Marali Sergent, Birek McCalla became Mirith's royal guard in an attempt to strengthen the bonds between the cities. His recent disagreements with King Galandir had him resigning and leaving to help his native city, Marali. Not much has been heard from him since.
Ciddia Tigg
Senior figure in the Mirith Guards, Ciddia Tigg was rumored to be very likely to replace Birek McCalla when he decided to resign from being Mirith's royal guard. She is now very busy preparing Mirith's army for whatever is going to happen with Andris.
Zara
This mysterious girl many referred to as Zexe's lover was of great help during the war of the Bleeding Moon. She totally vanished from the scenes after Zexe's death.
Rasha and Varsha
The very notorious Twins and former rulers of the Black Hand managed to escape from Marali after it was taken back from the Alliance and have been running ever since. While some Brigands still speak about them in high words, it looks like they do not inspire fear as much as they used to.
Duchess Tirana
Sister of king Galandir, Tirana was meant to take over the throne after her brother's death. Agent of the Black Hand, she would have assured the organization total control over Mirith. During the war of the Bleeding Moon, Tirana deceived herself by killing Beleth's daughter but managed to escape. She is now rumored to be hiding with the Twins.
Seth
Powerful and wise, this very old wizard remains a mystery for many. Some say scrolls from centuries ago talked of a mage called Seth, but the old man itself lost most of his memory. As the power of his Verma Stone decreased, Seth became very ill and was kept in the temple of Brigobaen under the care of Father Cecil. What happened of him when the Temple got pillaged is yet unknown.
Darkstar
Not much has ever been known about this very young and beautiful lady. Most of the time on her own, she decided to help Mirith killing Elefin by stealing her magic dagger. In a twisted turn of events, Darkstar got struck very badly and lost her reason under Nafets' care. She was last seen with a fighter wearing burning plate armor calling themself the "Legion". She vanished with him and both were never heard of again.
Clarissa Morgans
The oldest Senator of Andris was terribly affected by the treachery of Lancaster and the subsequent war of the Bleeding Moon. She spends most of her time enjoying the city gardens and regularly goes to Brigobaen. She rarely takes any part in the Senate's decisions anymore.
Georgette Feinstein, Nartias Muqities, and Milbin Halbim
These Senators still take part in lots of Andris' decisions. Their obligations prevent them from spending lots of times with the public.
Words and rumors do not tell much about what really happened to these people. Will they ever be seen again? Wise is the one who can say for sure. But whatever happens to them, never should they be forgotten...

New New New New

Aaaaand today we added a whole lot of new content that looks as great as it sounds
Progress is going pretty smooth and all those new things truly add a new dimension to the game. As always we add new content on the fly that a few minutes ago didn't even know existed. I love it! That new cleric spell is going to change your life... And make it so much harder for villains in RTQs too :P
Speaking of which I kinda enjoyed how that last RTQ went. Of course there was the monster lag and the subsequent carnage at the end but I really liked how we manage to wrap up something that was a bit more than me see me kill. Of course most of it was centered around very few people, but it allowed us to see what else we could do in the future. I did feel sorry for the army of ghosts in the last room tho :)
I'm really enjoying how things are looking IC now, I hope the players are having as much fun investigating what's going on than we have planning it... Basically the more players get lost the more we like it ;)
Anyway, here's telling you all the update is coming Soonô

Where art thou, oh Update?

I know lots of people are wondering this. You've heard things about drag'n'drop inventory sorting, about awesome new features that we're not going to give away yet... But you have no idea when this is actually going to go live.
Yes, this update is taking long. Way too long if you ask me. Back when Oberin went public, I wanted to have about one update per month, or per couple of months. I know this is a bit idyllic but that's how I always wanted it to be. Obviously things are turning out a bit different. I changed of ISP, Jinker and I both got new computers, and things put one after the others delay again and again.
But I'm fairly content about the speed at which things are going now! Over the last couple of weeks I got more and more time to devout to Oberin, and something is telling me it's only beginning. We're going at full speed now to release this new content that I'm pretty sure will be a big hit. We really have lots of fun and "Woa!" feelings going on when we test the features we want to add, I really can't wait for it to go live :)
I'd say we're roughly 60-70% done. Maybe more. That doesn't give any time estimate but that's all I can say for now. Inventory sorting is totally done and running on both Os 9 and X, and I'm working on adding Bank sorting. Other windows will probably have to wait for another update, unless I get some time to squeeze them in before the next update. There's always a ton of things I want to add, but sometimes I have to stop and call it an update ;)
Slowly, but surely, the next update is coming, and trust me when I say it contains a lot of new content that I hope everyone is going to enjoy, and not only Wizards :D

Oberin.
Yup, I decided to give this whole thing a try and to open my own. I know how bad I am at keeping these things up to date, but this time I'm going to try my best. :P
So what's to be expected here? I just want to be able to give a bit more feedback on how things are going from the devs' side, without polluting the dev forum with babblings not everyone wants to read. Sometimes I also feel like giving my point of view on things that are happening in Oberin, from my and my own point of view and without involving the rest of the team.
Now that I think about it, this thing really looks like it's going to be a Blog... Oh wait.
