Pole weapons include staves, spears, sickles and glaives, and only those skilled in pole fighting are able to use these large and sometimes unwieldy weapons to their full potential. As different weapons are more effective for dealing with different types of monsters pole fighting can be a useful skill when engaging certain foes. However all pole weapons require two hands to hold and thus preclude use of a shield, one reason why they are not as widely used as maces and swords.

Fighters are the only class able to gain great proficiency with pole class weapons, though rangers may gain some skill.

Active Uses: None.

Passive Attributes: Increases damage with pole class weapons.
