Making
a Living
The
most important thing you need to do in Oberin is make a living. You may have
aspirations of being a famous and valiant warrior, but you won't be slaying
any dragons your first day in Oberin. In fact, you will be lucky if you can
scrap together enough gold to feed yourself. Everyone starts Oberin as a lowly
peasant. It takes time and patience to build a highly skilled character.
Mages
can't practice their art until they can afford to buy reagents, and warriors
can't do battle until they have enough gold to buy weapons and armor. The best
way for new citizens to accumulate gold is by selling items to other players
or in one of the many Oberin shops. Items can be raw materials gathered from
the world or finished goods crafted by players.
