Welcome to Oberin!
Oberin is an online fantasy role-playing game and virtual community, available exclusively for Macintosh. Oberin takes place in a persistent, ever evolving world -- your character may come and go, but the world continuously runs.
While there are many separate quests that can be completed in Oberin, there is no ultimate goal when playing. The journey is the reward. It's an online fantasy world where the fun comes from interacting with other real players. You can join a group of fellow players to hunt for dragons, spend a quiet day fishing, meet a friend at the pub for a game of chess, or spend some time refining your chosen skills.

Yep, already! Apologizes for the inconvenience, you will need to download a mini-patch to be able to enjoy this new update. Grab it directly here (OS 9) or here (OS X), and replace your old Oberin Client with it.
Note: This is a mandatory patch. You will not be able to login if you don't download it.

Bad news people. Yesterday, the computer hosting the server drew its last breath, and now refuses to boot up. As neither Jinker or myself have a powerful enough spare mac to replace it for the time being, the Oberin Server will be offline for an undetermined amount of time.
We've always been refusing donations, and for many reasons, but this time we have to face it: We can't make it without your help. In order to raise enough money to buy an used mac and host the server again, we are very soon going to accept donations from the community. Also, as a big thanks in advance to you all, a long awaited online store is going to open. Oberin goodies ahoy!
Expect another update later on today with a bit more details. We really hope to take the Oberin Server back up as soon as we can.

Edit2: We managed to salvage the data from the old server, and nothing was lost. When the server is back online, all your characters, guild halls, etc. will be restored to their original state.
The donations are steadily going and we reached about 30% of our target. Thanks to everyone who helped us so far!
